Meet Our Dentists

Dr Clare Murphy GDC no. 83149
​
Clare is the practice owner. She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2004, and has been a general dental practitioner, providing care in and around Glasgow for the last 20 years.
​
In November 2011, she took ownership of Springburn Dental Practice, where all existing and new patients are welcomed.
In October of 2017, she moved the practice from its original 1st floor location, to our current ground floor home in Atlas road. This involved a lot of building work, but is about to be repeated as we get ready to move to 1 millarbank street in autumn/winter 2024!

Clare has an interest in treating nervous patients, and is committed to providing an environment where patients feel relaxed, and at ease. At SDP, we promote a very open approach to discussing treatment options, and believe that patients should understand and be happy with all aspects of their dental treatment planning.
​
Where patients may need a little more help to relax, we can offer Intravenous sedation, regularly accepting referrals from practices who do not offer this facility.
​
Clare is a member of SAAD - the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry, and has been providing intravenous sedation since 2008.
​
Clare is currently in her 7th year of mentoring on the West of Scotland Sedation Pilot scheme..which hopes to train more dentists to use sedation and safely implement it in their practices. She also provides sedation sessions in other practices as a visiting sedationist.
​
Clare is an elected member of the Greater Glasgow LDC (local dental committee), and exec member of the Scottish Dental Practice Committee, to offer valuable input to NHS dentistry in Scotland.
​
Clare is trained in, and enjoys offering cosmetic tooth alignment, composite bonding, and non-surgical facial rejuvenation, using anti wrinkle treatments and facial fillers , a variety of which are available to be discussed ,by arranging consultation.
After a short break in 2022 to welcome identical twins, Clare is back and as busy as ever!

Our associate dentists are Dr Katie Abercrombie, and Dr Kerri Stevenson. Dr Niamh McInnes is joining us in August 2024, and we can't wait!

Dr Kerri Stevenson GDC no. 290731

Kerri joined the team in August 2022, having spent 2 years in the West End of Glasgow in General Practice, following her qualification from Glasgow University. Kerri is a great addition to the team, with her infectious personality - and she's keeping us young!
Kerri has a busy social life and likes to jetset, we don't know where she finds the energy! Her weekends are never empty, and she also finds time to work hard in the gym! She is an inspiration, and with us 4 days per week.

Dr Katie Abercrombie GDC no. 177296
Katie joined the team in 2020, and graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009. She practised in North Lanarkshire for 10 years where she perfected her skills in all aspects of general dentistry. . Katie finds one of the most enjoyable aspects of her job getting to know and treating all members of the family! Katie began her career in the same practice Clare did, which just goes to show -its a small dental world!
Katie's friendly and approachable manner makes patients feel at ease as soon as they meet her. She gains great satisfaction in building trust with nervous patients, and helping them achieve beautiful smiles.
Katie also offers sedation as an aid for nervous patients, helping them to relax. She has completed many transformational smile makeovers, and is a perfectionist.
In addition to general dentistry, Katie is experienced in cosmetic dentistry, composite bonding, tooth alignment and non surgical facial rejuvenation.

Dr Niamh McInnes GDC no. 317568
​
Niamh joins the team in August 2024 and graduated from the University of Glasgow. Niamh really enjoys working with patients everyday and putting a smile on their face and is excited to get to know the patients at Springburn Dental Practice. She enjoys working with anxious patients and helping them to feel at ease during appointments.
​
In her spare time she loves travelling, trying new restaurants and she loves to paint. She is very talented at this! When she is not working at the practice she likes to keep active either at the gym or running followed by a trip to a new coffee spot.

Dr Caitlin Diamond GDC no. 302022​
​
Caitlin (or Caitie, just to confuse everyone with names!) graduated from Glasgow University, and will be joining the team very shortly following our move to 1 Millarbank Street. Caitie enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and is looking forward to starting her next chapter with us.​
​
In her free time, Caitie enjoys travelling, hanging out with her dog Penny and she is looking forward to her upcoming wedding!

Nicola M GDC no. 261406

Nic is our practice manager and keeps the practice in check. She is organised, motivated and on hand to deal with any problems and ensure that as a team, we provide the best service we can for patients.
Nic is also a qualified dental nurse, and keeps her skills up to date with occasional surgery time! She is an asset to SDP.

Ashley Roan GDC no. 141331
Ashley has been with us since Clare took over the practice in 2011. She works on a part-time basis and we cant believe her two 'children' are now teenagers... how old do we feel?! Ashley is qualified and GDC registered. She is very personable and only stops chatting long enough to allow us to get the treatment done! We are happiest the days she is in, as she brings cheer everywhere she goes!

Marta is a qualified dental nurse, who is hard working, organised, professional and always ready for what the day brings! She is also superwoman -Marta has a young family, with 3 boys! She is with us on a Monday, Thursday and Friday!

Nicola Paterson GDC no. 132166
​
Niki has over 25 years experience working in Practice, she works with us full time and keeps us all going with her positive attitude and frequent offers of cups of tea! She is currently working her way through her sedation training. She is fantastic at putting our anxious patients at ease and making their dental experience more comfortable.
She is kept busy outside of work with her family and two dogs Beau and Izzy.

Kirsten Bain GDC no. 310306

Kirsten is one of our full time Dental Nurses. She is organised, friendly and eager to add to her qualifications and work towards training in Sedation. She has a dog called Apollo who keeps her busy over the weekends!

Taylor is a qualified dental nurse, who joined our team last year, and has been providing us with a lot of laughs ever since! Taylor is a great addition to our team, and brightens up our days in surgery when she's in. She is looking forward to gain more qualifications in her dental nursing, and we can't wait to help her on her journey!

Mirren is another of our lovely dental nurses, who started with us this year. Mirren is a hardworking member of the team, qualified from Glasgow Dental Hospital. She is with us most days of the week, and makes sure to put a smile on our faces when she's here!​

Lauren is an experienced dental nurse, who will be joining the team ahead of our move to 1 Millarbank Street. We look forward to welcoming Lauren, who will be a great asset to our team!
